MineMe is a startup that needed a design for their user portal. MineMe allows people to sign up to control how their data, including streaming and online purchase data is shared. Users gain rewards for choosing to share data to companies that partner with MineMe. This design is for the portal where users sign in to claim rewards, track their data, and change their settings.
I worked as a UX designer on this project. Working with the founders of the website, I created concepts for the various pages of the user portal.
The MineMe founders came to me with an idea of what they wanted the designs to include and what pages the user portal should include. They had a logo and colors they wanted to use but were open to ideas for the look and organization of the site. They wanted the design to be data focused and look like a dashboard and wanted to focus first on a design for desktop. We started with the homepage that users will see when they first sign in. After we discussed color and organization of the page, I created a couple initial design concepts, the main difference being the look of the site. For the first, I used a more dashboard look with information organized into obvious cards. The second concept instead used vertical sections separated by colored backgrounds, organizing the data without breaking it into obvious cards. We settled on the first concept.
The homepage is an overview of everything—a user’s data, data sharing settings, and rewards. The main focus is a chart. Users can click options at the bottom of the chart to change to show different charts for different types of data. Click the images to see the mocks larger.
The data page takes the data shown on the homepage and expands on it. The same charts are shown at the top, but with additional related stats added at the side. Beneath the charts are placeholder data cards, as we weren’t sure at this early stage. what stats would be most important to add.
The rewards page includes two tabs to alternate between available rewards and recently claimed rewards.
The profile page includes information about the user which they can edit—separated into “about me” type information and “account management” information, such as password and settings. The bottom of the page shows the user’s recently claimed rewards.
The Settings page is designed to be clear and simple to use, including a toggle on/off bar for each setting option and a description of that setting.
Lastly, I designed the sign up flow. I broke this down into sections to keep the process from feeling overwhelming. The pages are broken down into different types of information. The final screen immediately prompts the user to turn on data sharing and start earning rewards, since this is the main action MineMe wants users to take.
